The Architect
Doug Carrick, B.L.A., O.A.L.A., A.S.G.C.A.
Since establishing his Toronto firm, Carrick Design, in 1985, Doug’s courses
have won an array of awards from the golfing media and hosted some
of Canada’s top professional tournaments. A member of the prestigious
American Society of Golf Course Architects, Doug never builds two similar
courses.
From his early work in the traditional Scottish links style at Osprey Valley Heathlands through to the grandeur of Magna Golf Club and the classic look of Bigwin Island, Doug consistently considers new ways of making the game of golf challenging for players of all abilities. Currently, Carrick Design is launching a new brand identity captured by the tagline ‘Soul of the Green’, following a very exciting year in 2007.
In addition to opening its first golf course design in Scotland, The Carrick at Cameron
House, three of its most recent golf course designs, including *The River
Course at Humber Valley, received an unprecedented seven design awards
